I am a 38yr old male and for the last 5-6 years I have been having this recurring dream of me running out of my old high school towards the school bus to go home but I am always missing it, as i am running from the school to get on the bus it is always pulling off!

Can someone please help me understand or try and interpret this dream, I read that recurring dreams are your inner self trying to communicate with your outer self to convey something of
importance in your life.

More likely it's just a reflection of some anxiety you have. We all have dreams like this.

I sometimes dream that I registered for a college class but then forgot about it until time for finals. I used to dream that I forgot I was married and married someone else only to realize later that I left my husband heartbroken, with no idea where I was or what became of me. I start to rush back to him to try to explain, but always woke up before I found him.

"Many people live and die by their desk calendar these days. Ours is a time-conscious, time-driven culture. Most of us have more things to do on our schedules than we can comfortably manage. These pressures have created an environment where missing appointments and scheduled events is a constant threat.

Dreams to this effect are common. One of the trigger events for these dreams is the nagging fear that we may not get everything done in the time given. Our anxiety about appearing competent to others is fragile and often assaulted in dreams.

Another interpretation of this dream is missing an opportunity. Life throws up so many possibilities that it's impossible to try everything. Each invitation comes with the promise that this event could change your life. The changes may include relationship or career rewards.

A final scenario revolves around fulfilling the relationship obligations that already exist in your life. In this case, dreams of missed appointments may be reminding you of personal obligations that already exist. You may be missing appointments as a sign that you are not fulfilling the needs of your spouse, family, or employer."

Though it's an appointment--and not missing the bus-- I think that this article is very, very close to your dream and may explain a bit.

Hope this helps!

well, its my beleif that in some dreams lie a a message to be understood only by the person dreaming them, howevere i can offer a generic situation.

High school is the time, the bus represents an opportunity at that time which you missed and taht had consequences. so you missed a really important opportunity in highschool.
