I was woken up by the sound of screaming?

Ok so the strangest thing JUST happened to me. I woke up at about 5:45 to hear someone sceaming , it didn't sound like they were afraid but the kind of scream someone makes when they're in pain. Just waking up I was confused ofcourse so I yelled "what??" Expecting to hear one of my family members call for help, but all i heard was more screaming. So I got out of bed and went to my mom's room , because it sounded like it came from there, and on the way there I heard more of the screaming, but when I got it there she was snoring .... So I went to my sisters room and she was asleep too. I heard the scream clear as day and I'm perfectly mentally healthy lol. I just dont get what happened or who that could've been??? Can anyone offer some advice?

There are two possibilities. The scream either came from you, or the scream came from someone else. The scream may have come from outside your house. Or it is possible that you were still in a state of dreaming, up and walking, with your mind not completely clear. You know how there is sleep walking? Well, there is also sleep talking. Perhaps you had not completed your dream and you heard loud screams from within your own dream, and got up to investigate. It is not beyond the realm of possiblity, and sure would answer your question. Hope you are able to solve this mystery, within a mystery.

There are several explanations possible. Let me expose two of them.

- You've heard a cat. Cat's scream can sound like an human complaint.

- You've heard a specific snoring. Sometime snoring can be really terrible.
